The P.A.R.T.Y. Program is free for schools.
The school is responsible for transport to and from the hospital and the resource cost (if applicable) for staff to attend with the students for a whole day.
The Program involves a full day schedule commencing strictly at 9.00am and concluding by 2.40pm. The program start/finish times cannot be adjusted due to the multi-disciplinary teams scheduling around patient care.
Due to the topics discussed at P.A.R.T.Y. the minimum age is 15 years.
Depending on the hospital, a minimum number of students ensures that opportunities to attend are not wasted due to limited places available in the school year (30 RAH, 25 LMH & FMC Hospitals).
The maximum number of students is capped due to the areas of the hospital the program visits, and to ensure all students can participate in the hands-on activities.
Please see the relevant hospital for more information relating to min. and max. number of particpants.
A minimum of three (3) school staff are required to attend with students.
These can be:
Teachers,
School nurses,
Counsellors/Well-Being/Psychologist (1 must be from this group)
Other staff members.
A senior teacher must attend as the teacher-in-charge.
Six weeks prior to a school's P.A.R.T.Y. date, the program will email a 'P.A.R.T.Y. Information Pack'. The pack includes all the necessary parent, student and teacher information and consent forms required for attendance. All consent forms must be returned prior to the date, forms are are not able to be returned on the day.
